8 Weeks

Hard to believe that it has been 8 weeks since Gus entered the world. I am loving being a Mom! He is getting better with sleeping at night and we have gotten into a bit of a routine. This week has been a long week, it has rained all day, everyday since Tuesday and I have a pretty bad head cold. Looking forward to a relaxing weekend!

Memorial Day Weekend

We had a great relaxing weekend! Lots of yard work and relaxing at home. Monday we decided to go to the Memorial Day parade they have in Westbrook. Gus went to his first parade and slept through most of it! He was able to be awake for some of it!

We then decided to go down to Old Orchard Beach for some pier fries and pizza. The weather was beautiful! We even ran into our friends Nick & Kati! Had a nice visit with them on the beach.
We then went home for naps (I needed one too!) and ended up going over to Pam & Joe's for dinner to end our great weekend!

The first swim of the year goes to......

....... Bela, of course!

My internet is still on the brink so this is the first time I have been able to post since Sunday night.It has been a hot last couple of days. With the temperature hitting 92 yesterday, we knew it was time to put of the pool. Pete got it for me for my birthday last year and I love it! It is the perfect cool off! Baby Gus is seven weeks today, and slept good last night, 9pm - 3am!

On Wednesday we went to Waterville to visit Jenny & Craig.

We had good visit and a yummy lunch at Governor's. We were able to book our hotel room for their wedding in August!

On this couch, Jennifer L. Wescott, Peter Wescott III, Peter Wescott IV, and Jennifer A. Wescott... Only in Maine!

I have taken control.....

.... of my house again!! I am on a roll! I have done major spring cleaning to our bedroom, Gus's room and the bathroom. Yesterday Pete and I cleaned the garage and basement! We have one side of the garage filled with a bunch of stuff we plan to try to sell in a yard sale next weekend.

Today we got mulch and did the front yard and after lunch will do the back yard. Pete is also setting up the pool today which is great since Thursday will be 82 degrees!!

Somebody's got to do the work, if I'm taking the pictures!

Gus enjoyed being outside, but wasn't much help!

..... Bela wasn't much help either!

On my list for the rest of the week.... spring clean the back room, living room and kitchen. If I can get those three rooms done, I will be happy! A roadtrip to Waterville tomorrow to visit Jenny and a enjoyable and relaxing Memorial Day Weekend!

Ollie's Birthday Party

Today(this will post as Monday, but it is 1:00am so I feel like it is still Sunday) was Ollie's 1st birthday party! We hit the road around 9:00 this morning.
Bela was a little sad we were not taking her to NH...

The ride to NH was good, Gus slept the whole way and we got to Jill's about 20 minutes before the party started.
Ollie & Gus meet..

About 15 minutes later, other guests started to arrive. It was great to see everyone. I got to catch up on gossip with Anjela(Jill's sister) and Ali, Jamie & Amy. We even got to talk to Rachel in Wyoming through Skype!
Gus meets Ali.....

The Grotnes's had a great BBQ, the burgers were yummy, and since there were so many people that wanted to meet and hold Gus, Pete and I got to eat at the same time!
Getting in a little snuggle time with Jill....

Campbell(Ali's son) enjoying some food as well!

It was then cake time, Jill had a big cake for all the guests and then a small one just for Ollie to do whatever he wanted with it!
Jill stripped him down to get him ready for his cake...

Ollie enjoyed his cake!

One of the gifts we got Ollie.....

It was so great to see everyone and spend time catching up. I was sad to go back we had to get back to Maine. It ended up being quite the ride. It took us about three hours to get home due to a feed and change on the side of the road in Rochester,NH. It was after 6 when we walked in the door hit the coach, but we had a good day!
Enjoying Ollie's party

Sleep Pattern: asleep: 8, awake: 4:45

We started the morning visiting a friend of mine from high school who just had a baby girl. She is adorable! We are going to start walking on Thursday's for some exercise together! I went and picked up Ethan from pre-school for special lunch. We such a great time and he is excited for me to come back in a few weeks.
I got a girls night!! I went to Mara's at 6 for some pizza, salad and mocktails! It is funny how time changes conversation. We use to talk about so many things, and now our conversations are dominated by babies since I just had mine and they are both due a week apart in September... I can't wait for their girls to arrive, Gus will be a stud muffin hanging with those girls!

Taking back my house...

Seriously.. I need to take back my house! Slowly over the last couple of weeks it has taken over me. Every night I make sure the kitchen is cleaned up so in my mind I have had control... then this morning I looked around the rest of the house... I need Merry Maids or something. Time to bring out my Martha Stewart Housekeeping book and organize my cleaning. Here is my new plan according to Martha!

EVERY DAY
* Make the bed
* Manage the clutter
* Sort the Mail
* Sweep the floor
* Clean while you cook

Here is my list for the rest of the house. Each night I will tackle a different room....

KITCHEN
*Wipe surfaces, including sinks, countertops, fridge and cupboard doors
* Clean out fridge
*Sweep & mop floor
*Wipe out inside of microwave

LIVING ROOM
* Throw out magazines & catalogs on side tables
* Dust all surfaces
* Vacum floor & sofa

BATHROOM
* Clean toilet, shower, sinks
* Wipe mirrors
*Change towels & bath mats
* Sweep & mop floors
* Empty trash can

BEDROOMS
* Change bed sheets
* Dust surfaces
*Empty trash cans
*Vacum floors
* Throw out magazines & organize night stands

THROUGHOUT THE HOUSE
* Wipe hand & pet prints from windows & doors
* Vacum hallway
*Clean & fold laundry

Also, WTF is up with Time Warner... I have been having problems with my internet all week!! When I have time (haha not these next two days) I need to call them to trouble shoot my modem and then if they can't fix it, they will send a service technician out. I NEED MY INTERNET!! I AM ADDICTED! I have an online problem and can't live without blogging, the nest and facebook. I have been attempting this post for the last 20 minutes and have been kicked off three times!!

I will have to just do a weekly roundup on Friday.

Awesome Day!

Bela, Gus and I at the E. Bridge St. park today!

What an awesome day I've had!! Gus slept good last night, and we started the day at 5:30.... feed him, put him in his swing and showered, and started some laundry, got a lot of laundry done today. We ran a bunch of errands this morning, hitting up Target, Walmart, Kohl's and the UPS store! Got home, greeted Bela, feed Gus and put him down for a nap. While he napped I went out and did some weeding and mowed the lawn. After a very late lunch we took a walk up to the park so Bela could run around and play ball. We even got our photo taken there!!

We got home about an hour ago... feed Gus, put the pork tenderloin on the grill for dinner and now am enjoying a little computer time before Pete gets home in 2o minutes. Now I just need to fit in exercising!!

Ode to Moms!

Mother's Day... my first as an actual mother! I started off the day by not waking until after 7!! As my Mother's Day gift, all I wanted was a full night of sleep. So Saturday night I went to bed at 9 and didn't wake until the next morning. Thanks Pete! Gus and I then let Daddy get some rest and went to buy flowers for the Grandmother's and Great Grandmother's. We then started the day of visits!

First stop Memere's (Grammy Pammy's Mom) house. It was a full house when we got there. Gus got to meet Uncle Randy who was visiting from North Carolina and the Webster's were there,the Wood's stopped by for a quick visit along with Grammy Pammy, Putt Putt & Auntie Cyn......

Memere and her 1st great granchild

Gus likes spending time with Grammy Pammy!

After the visit at Memere's we then headed over the Gram and Papa Wescott's house where we saw lots of family and Gus met some more of his aunt's, uncle's and cousins....

Enjoying a drink with Grammie Wescott

After the Wescott's we got to go home for a brief rest(well Gus got to nap!) before going to our next stop. We dropped off Grammy Pammy's gift and then headed up to Windham to see Mame and Papa Rick......

Visiting Mame

The day was getting exhausting!

We ended our day with a visit from Nonni and Poppi at our house along with Auntie Jenny and Uncle Craig who got to stop by for a little while!

Wishing Nonni a Happy Mother's Day

We all survived the Tour de Mom's 2009 and was glad to part of the race this year! No better gift then the little man I am holding in my arms at this very moment!! Happy Mother's Day to every Mom out there!!

Needing a little man time after all those ladies, he ended the night in Daddy's arms

T-Ball in Kennebunk

Ethan & I at his First T-Ball game

Saturday was a wonderful day spent with the Kahn's! Ethan had is very first T-Ball game at 10:00 so Gus and I drove to Kennebunk to watch. It was the cutest thing watching a group of 5 year olds play ball. Ethan loved every minute of it and Gus slept through the whole game! We went back to the house after for lunch and a visit and it was so great to spend time with the whole family. I miss the boys alot. They were so great with Gus, they wanted to feed him, burp him, hold him, play with him and were happy when he woke up! We(Ethan took a few) took lots of pictures and below are a few. When I go back to work, Gus will have great playmates!

Isaac very excited to hold baby Gus!

Ethan will be ready for his little sister!

Ethan took a turn at the camera and captured a cute moment!

Farmington Visit - lots of pics!

Gus and I made a roadtrip to Farmington on Thursday when Nicole had to have an unexpected surgery! She will be fine but it makes you realize how important your family is and how much they mean to you!! Mom had gone the night before to help out so it was a full house! With two babies in the house we were quite busy! I also drove Nicole up to her classroom so she could write sub plans and I was happy to help her get the plans ready.

On Friday morning Mom drove Nic to the doctors and I stayed home with the babies.. Wow!! I never sat! While one slept, the other would eat and then they would switch! When they were both awake, I attempted a photo shoot, not so easy with a 11 week old and a 5 week old! I was very happy to see Mom and Nicole walk through the door!

We might make another trip up next week.

Gus meeting Zeque! He is use to Bela so the occasion sniff or lick from Mary Kate and Ashley (AKA Cooper & Zeque) didn't bother him at all.

Strong School, Strong ME

Nicole's classroom

5:30am Gwen and I found Troop Beverly Hills on TV... It was a favorite of her Mommy and Aunties when they were growing up!

This photo shoot was harder than I thought!

Gwen and Gus annoyed by the photo shoot!

They were just as happy as I was to see Nicole and Mom walk through the door!

What's a trip to Farmington without a drive by the Chuck Wagon!
(Inside joke between Nicole & I)

Diapers, sleep and 5 weeks!

We have hit 5 weeks! I can not believe it... time goes by so fast! He is officially out of the newborn diapers and now I look at them and they look so tiny! We go through so many I remember I thought we had to0 many newborn ones and that he wouldn't use them all but he did!! He is getting bigger every day. His sleep is still the same up around midnight, again at 3:30 and then again around 5:30. The 5:30 one is the hardest for me because I have trouble going back to sleep after that feeding and I struggle to get to around 10 am... then I am fine for the rest of the day.

We took a little road trip to Farmington yesterday and will be leaving here this afternoon. I will post pics from our visit when I get home! We are pretty busy with two babies, one is sleeps while the other eats and then they switch. I give a lot of credit to Moms who have twins!

I took this with my phone yesterday at the Hospital
Gwen at 11 weeks and Peter at 5 weeks
